The Society of Master Saddlers National Saddlery Competition

7th February 2008

We are very proud to announce that Laurence Pearman and one of his newly qualified apprentices, Emily White, have recently won their class in the prestigious National 'Master and Apprentice' competition

The challenge was for Emily to make a Lunge Cavesson and Laurence the Side Reins both to their own designs

This internationally recognised award is acknowledged as a top accolade within the industry. This is on account of it demonstrating the workmanship and training skills of the Master and accomplishments of the Apprentice

In addition, Jo Newman was awarded one of only two bursaries presented to newly qualified Apprentices. This award is only presented to those whom have attained the highest levels of workmanship in this ancient craft
